Konrad’s 1yr Timeline

Here it is! At last, I maybe late of publishing this article, but I’ve finally gather all important contents needed for this blog post; it’s not just a regular post, but a special post about my son. He turned one year last month, January 11, 2016. Same as my birthday, yes, you read it right. He was born on my birthday, the best birthday gift that God has given me.

Konrad was supposed to be delivered the day before my birthday, but that was what we thought first and same from our doctor. The labor really took a really long time even if she was given a pain-reliever and epidural. So the doctor asks of my permission to lift up my wish that my son will be delivered the day before my birthday, but still, Konrad still didn’t take a budge.

When my birthday came, the doctor asks me if it’s okay to perform an E-section of my wife due to too much time she has endured. After they have performed the E-section at 1:44AM, the doctor said that my son was just sleeping in my wife’s womb. It was the doctor’s first time that a baby was not active to get out and wasn’t even crying.

When I first saw my son, I felt relieve and happy that both my wife and son were safe. Even though I wasn’t really outside the delivery room waiting for an update from the doctor because I was confident that both of them will be safe, what I was really doing, I was at our room sleeping and waiting for any updates.

When our son came in into our life, my relatives came to visit in the hospital because we also able to have our baby earlier to get inside our room. Everyone was so happy to have a new family member to join our journey in life.

After one year, we had a great journey together with my family. It was a journey full of laughter, tears, struggle and joy. Yes, the first year of having your first baby was a big challenge in life. Sometimes you experience that you’re breaking down or lost hope but with positive thoughts, things will go well according to God’s plan in our life. It was a big thanks to God that I’ve kept my mind always set positive for my son’s future.

I DIDN’T EVEN SHAVE MY BEARD! Haha! Yes, during my son’s early days, I didn’t shave because I don’t want to and rather just wear a mask, but still, my son get rashes in his face. He was so cute and I can’t stop myself in kissing my son. I was also able to hold myself for more than a month not to kiss my son so all the rashes will disappear but it came back because my father always kisses my son, even if he had his beard and moustache shaved, there are still tiny rough edges in my father’s face.

During those 365 days journey of my son, he also experience some bad fall, yes, either it’s in the crib without foam, fall out in bed and in the floor for having an out balance while he is learning to walk. With all of those falls he experienced, thanks God that my son is still in good condition and no problem came into his health.

With him in our life, we now have someone to join in our Valentine’s Day, birthdays, Christmas and other special days in the family.
